Lilla Rose Stylists: Ready Set Win!

“You do not have because you do not ask God.

When you ask, you do not receive…”

I just came home from an amazing weekend in Anaheim, California for the Lilla Rose 2018 convention. It was a sunny, moderate temperatures, breezy. There was plenty of opportunity to enjoy my Lilla Rose friends, food, laughter, and fun.

Looking at you, May! Bright, full of opportunity, sunny outlook, growth.

Looking at you, May! Bright, full of opportunity, sunny outlook, growth.

Hubby and I had such a great time.

We got a renewed vision for our family, refreshing time together, and recalibrated goals for my business.

We even had fun dying our hair a temporary purple.

We’re always treated like ROYALTY by the Lilla Rose Headquarters.

It really has been the best business builder choice for me to be a Lilla Rose.

But, it wasn’t all fun and games either!

There was quite a lot of learning by some direct sales training greats, such as Melanie Moore of Cinchshare (affiliate link), Belinda Ellsworth (Step Into Success), and Lindsay Tomkins, as well as internal Lilla Rose leaders leading breakout sessions. We also got to hear the rebranding, the vision and the direction of Lilla Rose by its founder and inventor of the flexi clip, John Dorsey.

Great new things are coming to this ten year old company of less than 9000 Stylists!

One of the things that stood out to me was something that came from Belinda Ellsworth. She said that many people are afraid to ask about the Business opportunity, and if *I* (taking this personally) do not present it to customers at vendor events, meet ups, or pop up Style Ups, what customers might think I’m communicating is that I do not think they can do what I do.

Oh. my. goodness. That is the furthest thing from the truth!

But oh so eye opening!

So.

If I have unintentionally communicated to a customer that I don’t think they can do this business, I am so, so, so sorry! I have no doubt that any one of my friends, family, and customers can do this business at least as well as I can, but probably even better. I do not do hair. Ok, so I do it a little bit. But I’ve seen many of you ladies with hair styles far sweeter than my own!

What I am really thinking is that I don’t want to be one of *those* direct sellers from many years ago who bothers their friends.

Recently I listened to a Tip of the Day or training by Brenda Ster here at the Sassy Suite, and she said that most do not actively ask for ladies/men to join our teams or to host a Style Up.

She’s right. I have not actively asked many at all.

I know I’ve taken this Bible verse in James a bit out of context, but I’ve been reflecting on it since conference.

Faithful people ask, do the work related to success, and wait in faith for results.

Successful people ask.

And in the meantime, if I don’t actively ask, I’m not communicating a belief in my followers, readers, customers, friends, and that would just break my heart. I would not be offering you a tremendous opportunity. I would not be offering a chance for an income, the relationships I have grown to love, the community that is Lilla Rose.

I would not be offering the opportunity for you to grow and bloom into a wonderful Rose.

I’m asking now.

How would a direct sales business with Lilla Rose benefit your family? Would you like to earn a little extra income for dance or soccer clubs? Do your children need braces? Would this business help you achieve some longer term goals, like taking a vacation or even being debt free?

Would you love a supportive, non competitive community of lovely ladies to help you grow in skills?

Would you love a challenge?

Do you love to meet with friends and serve a greater good and purpose?

How could a Lilla Rose business help your cause and fundraising?

Please come to my business group on Facebook where we can chat. Contact me here through Sassy Direct.

I do really want to help you grow in a business, however that looks for you.

In the meantime, Lilla Rose is offering some amazing new incentives for those enrolling as a new Stylist.

It’s going to be an amazing growth.

I’m asking you.

PLEASE JOIN ME!

Blessings,

Deb

Black Bean & Brown Rice Burgers with Spinach, Mushrooms, Bacon, and Cheese

We’re a pretty adventurous family when it comes to trying new recipes and new foods. We don’t mind spicy, we love vegetables, and we’re even okay with meatless options. We don’t subscribe to any one diet other than portion control, focus on protein and vegetables. We try keto, grain, dairy, and egg free recipes, Whole 30, Paleo diet, meatless recipes just because they sound good to us, believing any extreme diet is likely unhealthy, but they each have their good points. We’re up for most anything.

A little while back we went to a restaurant with my parents. Our youngest daughter, nine at the time, shared that she was tired of kids’ menu options that are boring and not particularly filling. She politely asked if she could try the adult menu. We said she could, but imagine our surprise when our nine year old opted to try spicy black bean burgers! That is definitely not something I would have tried with all the other options on a restaurant menu, nor would I have expected from a child! She tried them, though, and not only did she eat the entire burger and sides, but she loved spicy black bean burgers!

I’ve been traveling. My aunt just celebrated her 80th birthday, and my cousin was throwing her a surprise birthday brunch back in New England. One only turns 80 once, and I miss many celebrations because of the distance. I didn’t want to miss this milestone celebration!

My 80 year old aunt, cousins, brothers, and my son and his wife.

Plus, my niece is in Girl Scouts and she’s selling cookies. What better travel staple than Girl Scout cookies from my young niece! And my Lilla Rose bobby pins and hair band!

But, I’m chasing squirrels here…because I had been traveling, and because I’d left sick children who weren’t eating much, there isn’t much in the way of food in the house. While I was away the children and husband survived on a 16 quart pot of chicken noodle soup I’d prepared for the sickies before leaving, and there were lots of eggs from our chickens for the non sickies. Imagine four days in a row of chicken noodle soup and eggs. The family is quite bored with their food options! Yet, yesterday I had appointments, errands, and did I mention not much food in the house? I didn’t have time to prepare a fantastic meal last night.

I had a stash of cooked and frozen black beans, left over frozen rice….and staples in the freezer or pantry. I knew I had to be creative around the time limitations, but not make the family feel deprived.

I decided to make black bean burgers. I consulted with a few recipes before coming up with my own.  I topped them with a spinach, mushroom, bacon, cheese sauce because we had those ingredients too. The family thought they were great.

Black Bean & Brown Rice Burgers, LoveLeavingLegacy Style

  • 4 cups of soaked and cooked black beans
  • 4 cups of cooked brown rice
  • 2 green peppers diced
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 shredded carrots
  • 7 oz can diced chili peppers
  • minced garlic to taste
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 heaping tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 heaping tablespoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons of tabasco sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • bread crumbs as needed

In the food processor blend the beans and rice. Mix in remaining ingredients except bread crumbs. Then, add bread crumbs a little at a time until the mixture holds a burger form. Form 8-12 burger patties on a broiling pan, and broil til crispy and brown on low broiling temperature.

While burgers are broiling, prepare the spinach, mushroom, bacon, and cheese sauce.

Spinach, Mushroom, Bacon, and Cheese Sauce

  • 1 large poly bag spinach (one that serves 10)
  • 1 large onion
  • minced garlic to taste
  • 4 8 oz packages of sliced portabella mushrooms (My family thinks I should have chopped these more finely.)
  • 12 oz package of turkey bacon
  • 8 oz non fat cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • pepper to taste

In a large pan, saute bacon, onions, and garlic. When bacon is nearly crispy, add mushrooms and saute until almost softened. Add spinach and saute until wilted and incorporates easily into the rest of the bacon/vegetable mixture. In the food processor, blend together remaining ingredients. Add to vegetable bacon mixture, and stir over low heat until melted and creamy.

Serve over Black Bean and Rice Burgers. Serves 8-10. Option: Serve with whole or halved cherry tomatoes on the side.

I love that spring fruits and vegetables are on sale again, and we loaded up on cantaloupe and berries at the grocery store. We served a cantaloupe cubed as a sweet side to our dinner last night.

As I said, my family raved, and they’ve asked me to make them again. Score one for Mom!

Maybe they were just grateful it wasn’t another chicken noodle soup night?

If you try our concoction, tell us what you think in the comments!

Blessings,

Deb

The Amazing Lilla Rose Opportunity-It Can’t Be Kept A Secret!

What is a direct sales business? Direct sales is when a person has joined up with a real company to sell a real product directly to a consumer. She may do it through an online replicated website, at in home Style Boutiques, or through a vendor event of some kind, such as a craft show, networking event, or festival. In direct sales, that Stylist will provide direct customer service, likely more personal and with better quality than a box store. The direct seller earns a commission off the product she sells, and as she builds a team, she may also earn a portion of her team members’ sales as well.

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

The direct selling business has a lower price point start up cost than a franchise brick and mortar store would have. The opportunities usually contain no cost or low cost website fees, no to low quotas, and flexible work hours, but success does depend on one’s own work initiative, and often creative solutions in the execution of her business. Relying on one’s friends’ list or social media only is going to be very limiting to her success.

The three main reasons a person would go into direct sales are:

  1. Earning potential
  2. Flexibility
  3. Need for community and to impact a community

I’m curious. If you were going to start a Lilla Rose direct sales business, what would be your main reason for having one? I seriously want to hear your story!

Lilla Rose was actually named one of the eight best direct selling companies to earn extra cash by Woman’s Day magazine, with commissions starting at 30%, and the ability to earn up to 45% with sales and promotions through team building.

The new kit, called Ready, Set, Style, was released in early October, It contains everything a Stylist needs to hit the ground running. The start up cost is $125 (plus tax and shipping), but has a $300 value in product and business supplies. Doing only home parties, a person could earn back their start up costs in as little as one or two parties, depending on the sales from those parties. There is also the potential to add on a Fast Start pack for $500 (plus tax/shipping, valued at $1100) for additional product if one desires to have inventory.

There are no website fees, and the only quota is the $30/year in sales. Frankly, once a Lilla Rose user, that $30 quota is easily obtained just in personal use purchases! That is the purchase of a hair band and a pair of bobby pins, or a small flexi clip and a Swerve upin!

If a person is looking for flexibility in business, there are many ways to sell Lilla Rose products. The replicated website is easy and free. Sharing the website via a blog or the products at networking events is a way to introduce Lilla Rose. A Stylist can opt to work with bloggers doing reviews and giveaways. A Stylist may carry an advertising bag filled with product, and sell at her children’s extra-curricular activities. There are home Style Boutiques as well as social media ones. Using the policies and procedures of not just the Lilla Rose company for social selling, but those of each site as well, this can be very effective, ethical, and spam free way to do Style Boutiques. There are also craft fairs, festivals, and vendor events for those who enjoy direct selling in that fashion.

Lilla Rose is a flexible enough business opportunity that we actually use our business as training ground for our children in entrepreneurship in our homeschooling.

The community in Lilla Rose is like nothing I ever expected in direct sales. It is a family owned company, and even Lilla Rose Inc is small enough that there is a family atmosphere at headquarters. The owner and CEO of the company, John Dorsey, is likely to answer a telephone customer or Stylist inquiry.

We have both larger Stylist support groups and smaller team ones. There are weekly free webinar trainings. There are occasional regional trainings, and a yearly conference.

Lastly, if you want to make an impact in your community using your direct sales business, you are able to do that as well. You determine your involvement in a cause either through product donation to that cause, or whether or not you want to run a fundraiser.

And, finally, I love the ladies on my growing team. I truly want to hear their successes, and help through their hard times in their business.

Do work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit energize you? Do you love hair styling and accessories? Would you love excitement, rewards, fun, and friends?

I’m seeking new Stylists to join my Lilla Rose team, and to be Hair Heroes with me! With effort you’re able to put into your business, you could earn a full or part-full time income by helping ladies look and feel beautiful, and by providing them with an easier morning hair routine! I’d love to talk more about the business opportunity here, or message me on my business page, LoveLeavingLegacy. I look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings,

Deb
